Skilled Maintenance Operative

King Edward's School and King Edward VI High School for Girls are looking to recruit a Skilled Maintenance Operative. The candidate’s main skill should be carpentry, but they must also be competent in carrying out basic work in other trade areas such as plumbing, building and general maintenance. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the post holder will complete all works to an agreed standard and timescale. In addition, they will be expected to offer assistance to the Portering team and other Facilities staff when required. 

Salary: £16,602 per annum (Grade 2 SCP 3)
Location: Edgbaston, Birmingham
Type of position: Permanent, full-time, all year round
Hours: 37 per week: Monday to Thursday (7.5 hours a day); Friday (7 hours), plus a half hour unpaid break each day. There is some flexibility in whether the hours are worked in the early morning or evening. Occasional weekend working may also be required.
Holiday entitlement: 20 days per annum, plus 8 bank holidays and 4 concessionary days
Start date: Immediate start
